165.8 pounds: Kelli's Good- Bye Dinner
My friend, Kelli, decided to up and leave for Canada for 30
days to 3 months. Last night we went to
a Cajun restaurant to give her a proper send off. I hadn’t been to Molly’s since I broke my
foot there on my 30th birthday, but I did remember they had mean
alligator dish. After looking to no
avail the point content for alligator (if you’re reading this, Weight Watchers,
you should really determine the points value for fried alligator cause it’s
delicious), I gave up and looked to see what else they had on their menu. Good thing I looked because Molly’s no longer
serves alligator. I ended up with the
fried green tomatoes (5 points for 2) and shrimp (1 point for 3 ounces).
But of course you can’t say good bye without alcohol. For some reason I thought rum was 4-5
points. Boy was I excited when I plugged
it in and it was 3 points. Game on!

A Little Bit of Background
In a span of 6 weeks the trifecta happened. First, I started dating my lovely boyfriend,
Aaron, then my mother passed away. Right after that Thanksgiving happened. So the 145 pound body that I spent an entire
fat bet competition earning (down from 159) went up to 174 pounds in what felt
like overnight. And seeing as how I
prefer to spend my money on travel and booze I decided to lose the weight to
get my somewhat awesome wardrobe back.
Two and a half years later, here I am, still heavy.
I decided to join Weight Watchers.
It’s worked in the past and I enjoy the meetings. In fact, just
yesterday, I spent the meeting helping a lady learn how to use Pinterest. We’re now Pinterest friends.
So here’s the situation and reasoning behind doing this blog: It recently hit me that holy crap! I’m out of
town most of this summer. Normally this
would sound exciting, however, when it comes to vacationing and me there is a
whole lot of drinking and chowing down, I mean, you have to taste the local
delicacy, right? Plus I love to try
local brews.
So this is the story of how I spent my summer (hopefully) losing weight
while spending the down payment for my gingerbread house (which is a whole
other story).
