A Little Bit of Background

In a span of 6 weeks the trifecta happened.  First, I started dating my lovely boyfriend, Aaron, then my mother passed away. Right after that Thanksgiving happened.  So the 145 pound body that I spent an entire fat bet competition earning (down from 159) went up to 174 pounds in what felt like overnight.  And seeing as how I prefer to spend my money on travel and booze I decided to lose the weight to get my somewhat awesome wardrobe back.  Two and a half years later, here I am, still heavy.

I decided to join Weight Watchers.  It’s worked in the past and I enjoy the meetings. In fact, just yesterday, I spent the meeting helping a lady learn how to use Pinterest.  We’re now Pinterest friends.

So here’s the situation and reasoning behind doing this blog:  It recently hit me that holy crap! I’m out of town most of this summer.  Normally this would sound exciting, however, when it comes to vacationing and me there is a whole lot of drinking and chowing down, I mean, you have to taste the local delicacy, right?  Plus I love to try local brews.

So this is the story of how I spent my summer (hopefully) losing weight while spending the down payment for my gingerbread house (which is a whole other story).
